Once upon a time Matt and Chip made a beautiful cover for the 4th printing of issue #1 of Sex Criminals. This beautiful cover captured the imagination of brimpers everywhere, including myself and my lovely coworker Heather (@girlblunders). The situation has since escalated nicely.
Welcome to Brimpception!

robocop remake talk
thanosisabutt i think it’d have made more sense for them to have released it around this time - post cap 2, pre-everything else, still in the spring/summer movie season. valentine’s is tough - romance flicks (like that generic ass movie that came out earlier this year; i can’t even remember the name) and family fare (like the lego movie) tend to always win out. not a great time for a sci-fi action-drama with a slick, dark sense-of-humor.
but i recommend you give it a chance!! the trailers for it completely undersold the sly, satirical, totally on-the-ball criticisms of american capitalism, the (corrupt) police state, pop punditry (samuel l. freaking jackson features as a bill o’reilly type program presenter wearing a fantastic wig, too), and where we as a country are headed, overall. it keeps in line with the vibe of the original, in that sense. yeah, it’s not as violent, but i think it’s the perfect 2014 rendition of this sort of story. it’s as thought-provoking as it is laugh-inducing and entertaining. it’s not just a basic, flat, unmemorable action movie… there are a good handful of scenes that stick with me, for sure, for various reasons.
really, the more i think about it and write about it, the more i fall in love with it. i’m going to be THAT GUY and go ahead and say that those who slammed it probably just didn’t get it.
one of the cutest shows in the world
can’t believe so many people slept on this year’s ROBOCOP
