got (non-japanese and non-asian, at that, which lends even less weight to their mighty opinions) people out here gladly and aggressively defending WWII-era japanese imperialism and nationalism
man, i know that japan is, overall, a beautiful country with a rich, vibrant, dynamic, and fascinating culture, but that doesn’t excuse their historical transgressions, at all. don’t let your love of their modern pop culture skew your perceptions of actual history.
[ A black and white sketch of Marvel comics character Faiza Hussain, an English muslim and superhero of Pakistani origin. She wears a tunic underneath a chain mail shirt complete with hood. Over this she wears a dark tabbard with light coloured edging and a heraldic device in the shape of a shield, while covering the mail hood is a khimār or headscarf. She wears a pair of gauntlets, clasping the sword Excalibur in both hands while wearing a determined expression. ]
